Florida Panhandle Wedding Photographer: Charla Gets Married

The Queen of  Zebra & Fuchsia married The King of Hunting & Fishing. Such a special couple!  Charla Atkins of Port St Joe, the daughter of Holly and Charles Atkins, glowingly  became Mrs. Justin Michael Douglas on Saturday, July 31st. I do believe she is a very happy bride! I have thought long and hard to try and write something eloquent and demure about this incredible couple…..then I gave up. I’ll have to let our images of this wonderful celebration speak for themselves. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, get ready for ten thousand of them. Congratulations, and thank you for allowing Silver Quest Studios the privilege and fun of  capturing so many of your lifetime memories. We wish only the very best for you, for many, many years to come.  Congratulations!!

Florida Panhandle Photographer: Covenant Christian School Summer Camp Kite Day

Summer in the Florida Panhandle can be down right hot. Baking-cookies-on-the-dashboard-hot! But what a cool way to spend a few hours than to teach kids how to build and fly a kite. And that’s just what we did on a very hot Wednesday, July 21 at Covenant Christian School in Panama City. Debbi Earnest  organized the event and invited me (to be a kid again, if only for a few hours) to show these wonderful boys and girls to build their own kites.  They drew, colored, cut, pasted, tied and twisted their tongues around until all of that turned into ….a kite! We then went to the ball field and let the wind perform its magic. When in doubt, go fly a kite!

Port St Joe Wedding Photographer: Summer & Carl’s Big Wedding Day

What did you do last week-end? We had the honor of  shooting the beautiful wedding of Summer and Carl Hopper. The ceremony, with their family and many friends, was held on the  tree shaded lawn of Centennial Park in the late afternoon of June 12, 2010.  As the bride made her dramatic entrance, the air was filled with the soft aroma of magnolia blossoms and the lilting tones of the string musicians playing that familiar tune. After the ceremony, who could think of a better way to get to the reception but to hitch a ride in a 1908 Ford model T. Everyone smiled and honked their horns for “good luck” as the Model T round its way through Port St. Joe to The Beach Club, at Windmark Beach. There the clubhouse was expertly designed and beautifully decorated  with satin and organza table cloths, framing the beautiful fresh flower arrangements, done in the Bride’s favorite colors.  It was a perfect ending to a perfect beginning.

Port St Joe Wedding Photographer: Fran and Ben become Hokkanen

On a warn sultry afternoon on May 29th, Fran and Ben committed to become man and wife and join the Hokkanen Finnish family and end their single lives of lonely solitude. Ha! In reality they invited their best friends and family to celebrate their union at the quaint and cozy St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Port St Joe. After the ceremony we headed to Windmark Beach for some fun photos.  We were very fortunate to run into Ryan Alexander, manager of the School of Fish Restaurant at Windmark Beach. He was a gracious host and invited us to use his restaurant as a backdrop for some of our shots.  We then headed for the Tourist Development Council which sports a huge open air deck overlooking St Joe Bay. Under white tents decorated and lit by Rich Wynn of  Panche Tent and Events and the co-operation of a cool breeze coming off  St Joe Bay, the mood was set.  That’s when the party started. Provisions provided the most beautiful, tastiest, colorful buffet I have ever seen!  Beach Bartenders kept the crowd happy, singing and dancing.  A beautiful ceremony, super fun reception with family and (very energetic) friends. This is their life and these are their pictures, enjoy!

Miami Beach Wedding Photographer : Beautiful Wedding at The Palms Hotel on South Beach

Traveled down to sunny South Florida this past weekend to shoot the beautiful wedding of Viviana & George at The Palms Hotel on Miami Beach. The Palms is a beautiful hotel right on the beach with luscious tropical foliage surrounding a gorgeous pool. The weather recently in South Florida had been a bit cool, however  it warmed up just in time to give us perfect weather for the wedding. The light was gorgeous as the ceremony began which made for beautiful pictures! Viviana & George were great to work with.  Viviana wore a breathe taking gown complimented by an exquisite bouquet of calla lilies by Gio Vidal from Feel the Flowers.  The reception was enjoyed by the guests with scrumptious food and lively music while celebrating this special day.   Viviana & George had party favors to add to the fun as everyone danced the evening away.  Congratulations and best wishes to the beautiful couple!

Panama City, Florida Destination Wedding

I had the honor of photographing  Matt & Jessica’s engagement  session in downtown Panama City back in January. It was a cold blustery winter day in Panama City, Florida. As cold as it was, Matt & Jesica were real warm sports and even went into St. Andrews Bay and splashed around a bit. Talk about true love, these guys were warm and natural, super comfortable and it really showed in their photos. That was then and today is the wedding. A very warm July 18th and Jessica and her brides maids are getting ready. Matt and his grooms men are also at the church finalizing their ties and tying their shoes for the walk down the aisle.  A beautiful and emotion filled wedding. It was held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Panama City. The Reception was held at The Officers Club at Tyndall Air Force Base. Once the wedding party arrived, they fired up on all 8 cylinders and it didn’t slow down, they even got the turbo up for an unbeliveable finish. Matt and Jessica left in a sea of bubbles provided by the wedding party, friends and family. Their get-away auto was decorated by the same crew in off-white toilet paper and Van Camps and Great Value baked beans cans tied to the rear bumper, nostalgia style. We all wish Matt and Jessica a long and fruitfull life. Enjoy the pictures.
